Welcome!
Welcome to the Greenville County One-Stop Career System! What is the One-Stop Career System? The One-Stop Career Systems were created under the federal law called the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA), which enables communities to establish locations where workers may find various tools and programs related to getting and keeping jobs. As a result, many programs and organizations participate within the One-Stop system to offer career help and other benefits through one central point or location. In Greenville County, the Workforce Development Agency administers and oversees the One-Stop System and the Workforce Investment Act and currently has twelve Partners who contribute towards the One-Stop System.

Greenville WIA is currently under a Priority of Services for Adults. This means that the
WIA Adult program will give priority for training services to applicants who meet the federal
low-income guidelines. An Adult is an individual who is 22 years or older who is unable to
obtain employment through core services and has been determined by the WIA Specialist to be
in need of more intensive services in order to obtain employment, or in need of intensive
services to obtain and retain employment that allows for self-sufficiency.
One-Stop Center Overview
Individuals seeking a new job or interested in advancing their career may access a wide array of information on training programs, education and employment services, all of this and much more is available in the One-Stop Centers. Employers may post job openings, locate qualified job applicants and receive outplacement and recruitment assistance.
There are three types of One-Stops in Greenville County: Comprehensive Centers, Satellite Centers, and Access Points.
Comprehensive Centers are larger centers that are most inclusive of all the services the "System" has to offer. In Comprehensive Centers there are: One-Stop Partners located within; computers are available for updating your resume or searching for employment opportunities, job seeker resource books, WIN (upgrading for WorkKeys), and so much more!
Satellite Centers offer access to all of the mandated programs via electronic referral tools but there are no co-located partners within the One-Stop Satellite Center.
One-Stop Extension Sites are locations that offers access to the mandated programs via kiosk stands and/or electronic referral tools but there are no co-located staff. Additionally, extension sites are not centers and will differ from the comprehensive and satellite locations as the site may be physically located within lobbies, common areas, and other placements within an organization. Extension sites are intended to provide general information only. Please visit a comprehensive or satellite center in order to fully access the array of services offered by the One-Stop.
