Priority of ServicesPlease be advised that the WIA Adult Program Priority of Services will go into effect on Monday, April 1, 2013. This means that WIA training will be prioritized for adult customers who meet income eligibility guidelines.
WIA Recruitment of Dislocated Workers (Primary) and Unemployed/Underemployed AdultsPlease be advised that Greenville County WIA has opened up training sponsorship slots specifically for the Dislocated Worker program. Laid off workers should be immediately directed to a WIA who will sign them up to attend an orientation session. Individuals who were not laid off may be eligible for the WIA Adult program and can also be directed to WIA to be scheduled for orientation. PY14 Incumbent Worker Training Public NoticeThe Greenville County Workforce Investment Board (GCWIB) is currently accepting applications for Incumbent Worker Training (IWT) programs. The Incumbent Worker Training Program is subsidized through the Federal Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (Public Law 105-220) and provides funding for training needed in current businesses due to expansion, new technology, retooling, new services/product lines and new organizational structuring or as part of a layoff avoidance strategy. Approximately $78,401 is available during this application round. Interested employers may download the IWT Guidelines and Application or request an electronic copy via email to Kamiller@greenvillecounty.org. IWT Applications are due by 3:00 p.m. on September 15, 2014 and should be mailed or delivered to: Greenville County Workforce Development, Attn: IWT Evaluation Committee, 225 S.
